QNews is Queensland 's only fortnightly gay and lesbian magazine. Unlike any other magazines it is proudly Queenslander and includes the Northern Rivers NSW region.

QNews is fully produced, written, edited, printed and owned by Queenslanders. We have around 400 distribution outlets and are growing fast. Most of the distribution is off scene with only 7% of people picking up QNews at gay lesbian venues we truly communicate with city, suburban, fringe and coutry people.

QNews was the first gay newspaper to publish the entire printed version of the paper on the net in Australia and that has grown fast and helps to service remote Queensland .

QNews has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars since it began and continues to work with many community groups to tackle serious issues such as youth suicide, HIV prevention, domestic violence, discrimination and is proactive to improve services to our community.

The Q People are a fantastic bunch of people that number around 30 and are committed to producing informative, fun information and news to keep you up to date with what’s happening in this part of the globe.

The Q People share a vision of making this world a better place and is a mixture of full, part time and volunteers. The new website is made possible by a great bunch of people from Glass Obelisk and we are grateful for their effort and support as well as that of my247.com.au for many years. It will allow us to keep people even more updated.

QNews is always evolving and helping to create new and exciting events working with our community. Events such as Big Gay Day (Charity Fundraiser), Aqualicious, Tropical Fruits, White Wolf, Queens Ball, Random, Corium, Northern Exposure, 2020 GLBT Summit, Brisbane Pride Festival, Fluffy Festival, Mardi Gras, OUT Gaymes Montreal, OUT Gaymes Pacific Melbourne, FEAST Festival Adelaide, Open Doors Dance Parties for under 18s, plus hundreds more have all benefited from QNews' help and assistance. QNews has encouraged every event organiser over the years to donate a portion of their door to a worthy G&L charities and organisations.

QNews works extensively with around 120 community groups and sub groups such as QAHC, Open Doors and the Gay and Lesbian Counselling service (GLWA) to assist their endeavours and to make this world a better place. We are proud of our many many achievements over our 8 tear history thanks to a fab loyal team that make it possible.

QNews has also assisted many businesses communicate their message to people they have no other way of communicating with. Many businesses have had very successful campaigns thanks to the support of QNews loyal readers that took years to establish with credible campaigns.

There is also a fun side to QNews ... if you are going to raise money for a worthy cause then you may as well have fun doing it. Hence the first major event QNews created was Big Gay Day that Queensland has adopted and supports every year.

Most importantly QNews would not exist if it were not for the support of our loyal readers who are always ready to feed information back both good and bad over the last 8 years. Our readers are second to none and around 120,000 people read QNews every fortnight including the printed and net version of the paper.

QNews is proudly a Queenslander, Real People, Real News, Real Fun, and does real good for all the right reasons.  Talk to us, lets sit down and chat and see how we can help YOUR community group.
