Brisbane Sexual Health Clinic
This clinic offers a wide range of clinical, educational, health promotional and counselling services for people affected by or concerned with sexual health issues, particularly in the area of sexually transmissible infections.
The Brisbane Sexual Health Clinic provides: Sexual health checks; Testing, treatment and management of sexually transmissible infections; Management of HIV/AIDS; Post-exposure prophylaxis for exposure to suspected HIV infection; Hepatitis B vaccination for people at risk; Emergency contraception; Information and advice for a range of sexual health issues; Referral for counselling where appropriate; Telephone advice and counselling; Free condoms and lubricant; Health promotion programs, including specialist screening and education programs for interested community groups.
The Brisbane Sexual Health Clinic is for: People affected by or concerned with sexual health issues, particularly in the area of sexually transmissible infections; Individuals living with or affected by HIV infection.
The clinic is a walk-in service where individuals are assessed on arrival and allocated a time to see a nurse or doctor. Individuals with urgent needs and/or a medical referral are prioritised.
Services are provided free of charge. A Medicare card is not required. However, a Medicare card is required for access to HIV treatment and other Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) items. The usual PBS co-payment is required.
