AIDS Medical Unit
The AIDS Medical Unit is a wellness-oriented service in the community. Staff provide a range of nursing and medical support to people living with or affected by HIV.
Services include:
Specialised HIV medical and nursing care; Post-exposure prophylaxis for persons who may have been exposed to HIV; Telephone advice and counselling; Ongoing education, counselling and support for those infected with HIV, their partners, family members, significant others and carers; Confidential and coded HIV testing; Social and welfare information and support; Referral to HIV community supports; Voluntary participation in clinical research; Access to HIV medications.
The AIDS Medical Unit is for:
Individuals living with or affected by HIV infection;Their partners, family members, significant others and carers.
